Zoe. 17. Senior. I suck at running a blog. This thing has no rhyme or reason. Its just a buncha stuff I like that appears on my dash. Cool. Enjoy! |
Dear HONY,
I know you don’t always go for the “local celebrities” angle, but Jimmy Web is such a gem. In spite of the leather pants and tattoo sleeves, he’s more like one of those old school knows-your-name shopkeepers. He’s there every day and loves what he does. Subculture kids who come to NYC treat his store, Trash and Vaudeville, like a tourist destination and a Mecca and he’s so gracious about all of it. Like, yeah, he’s met everyone who’s anyone in rock and roll history, but he’ll still smile at you when you buy your $5 clearance t-shirt.

*Having met Jimmy today, I can confirm that he is such a special person. He was so touched that someone wrote that letter about him. “That’s exactly what I try to be,” he said, “I sell clothes to a lot of big names—but really, what I’m all about, is trying to help everyone become their dream.”
Actually really excited because I’ve known this man from a young age. My mom (despite being the rich doctor woman) is obsessed with heavy metal and lived down in the village back in the day. Trash and Vaudeville is a place I’ve been more than my best friend’s house.
andtheothersgold.tumblr.com -follow it. It’s better than this one…
These are dark times, there is no denying.
